Buttercream Frosting

1⅓ cup solid white shortening
2 teaspoons clear vanilla
½ teaspoon clear butter flavoring
2 Tablespoons meringue powder
5-6 Tablespoons water
2 lbs. powdered sugar

Using medium speed (with a stand mixer) or high speed (with a hand mixer), cream shortening; add flavorings and meringue powder. Stir in water. Add powdered sugar ⅓ at a time, mixing well after each addition. Continue to beat for about 2 minutes to make icing creamy.
